영화 성난 눈동자(Wrong Is Right, 1982)에서 락우드 대통령(조지 그리자드)은 솔직하게 의견을 말해도 되겠느냐는 CIA 국장에게 'Shoot'이라고 대답한다. 이는 자신을 쏘라(shoot)는 뜻이 아니다. 'Shoot'은 '(총을) 쏘다'라는 뜻도 있지만, 속어로 '어서 말해'라는 뜻도 있기 때문이다.

그런데, 락우드가 말한 shoot에 '총으로 쏴서 죽이다'라는 의미가 없는 건 아니다. '쏘는 건 좋은데, 겨냥은 맬러리 쪽으로 해'라는 또다른 의미로도 해석할 수 있다. 락우드는 shoot이라는 단어를 이용해서 pun을 하고 있는 것이다.

참고로 위 대화에서 맬러리(레슬리 닐슨)는 야당 대통령 후보의 극중 이름이다.
